The fifth American fleet, based in Bahrain, announced in a statement Sunday that the crossroad USS Monterey discovered weapons aboard a sailing ship in the Middle East.
An American official made it known that the weapons seized yesterday were similar to previous shipments that were tapped for the destination of the Huti rebels in Yemen.
The AP agency reports that according to an initial investigation, it is suspected that the ship was launched by Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran's UN mission did not respond to the AP's request on the event, while Tehran has denied supply of rebels' weapons in the past. /A2
