Blinken in the announcement on Twitter has provided the reason for the <x0->acts of corruption”, but in a broader statement, the reason is further revealed.
“Today, I am announcing the public definition of Sali Berisha, the former president and prime minister of Albania as a non-grath person because of corruption. In Albania's official capacity as prime minister in particular, Berisha was involved in corrupt acts, such as “misuse of public funds and interference with public processes,” including using power for his own benefit and enriching political allies and family members at the expense of the Albanian public's confidence. Furthermore, his rhetoric demonstrates that he is willing to defend himself, family members and political allies against independent investigations, anti-corruption efforts and other accounting measures. With this definition, I am reaffirming the need for accountability and transparency in democratic institutions, government processes and the actions of Albanian public officials. ”
State Secretary of State says the US will continue to stay with the Albanian people.
