“The U.S. is disappointed with the current stallion of dialogue. I am pleased that authorities in Serbia recognise the importance of resolving the problem, as well as procrastination only harms people in the region and continues to encourage migration of people. We support the efforts of emissary Lajcak, and we look forward to the planned lunch with regional leaders in the coming weeks”, Godfrey said.

He has also commented on German Ambassador Thomas Schieb's statement, which has said that the 1999 shelling of Serbia has been necessary to prevent a genocide and humanitarian catastrophe.

Alfredy in his response to Serbian Kurir said the German ambassador's stance is not new and that the US believes Slobodan Milosevic led Serbia to blood in the 1990s.

“Ambassador Schieb is a good friend and an honourable man who works hard to increase German investments and help Serbia. I'm not sure why the public was surprised by his statement that this view is not new, and many countries agree. The United States and our allies believe that Slobodan Milosevic led Serbia on a bloody road to destruction in the 1990s. It was not Serbia as it is today, nor should it harm the reputation of that Serbia that sacrificed so much in both world wars to help bring peace and stability to Europe”, the American ambassador has said.
