More than 26 thousand middle-class students on Friday will be subject to the destination test, with scores achieved will be able to navigate to high schools.
The test will have 100 questions from Albanian, English, mathematics, and questions from social and natural sciences, while this time there will be no transitional criteria but that the points collected serve students to be guided to secondary schooling.
The chief of the Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Division, Fatmir Elez, says everything is ready for this test, while stressing that the rules for protection from COVID-19 will also be respected.
This year is about 26 thousand semimarants, the test is like the previous years, it hasn't been tested as you know. The test is with alternatives, it's 100 questions from classes learned in lower high school, sixth to nine... The probability test is not a criterion-based test, which means there are no transition criteria. Students get their test scores, each subject gets their scores the way they do and there's no criterion for passage... The test is made up of nine whole subjects, Albanian and English are a group of subjects, history and geography, mathematics and IT, and natural science. It means these four groups are of 25 questions each”, he says.
The implementation test will be held at 155 testing centres at the country level, where over 2,000 managers will be committed to monitoring this test for monitoring.
Because of protection from the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, Elez points out that in classes there will be only 15 students.
He says he's taken all anti measures - CO VID, where each class will be equipped with disinfectant and students will enter the testing centre in masks only.
There are some 155 testing centers with about 2 thousand and 200 classes separated since this year all municipalities don't have over 15 in rare cases where there was a bigger room, but if there was a 30-grader class, it was split in half and managed by two managers. Every school is equipped with disinfectant, students are suggested to wear masks, as are managers and commissioners forced to wear masks on test day. It means that all measures against pandemic must be respected”, he says.
Exception from testing is punishment for students who will be caught using the phone inside the test center. Elez says they will be uncompetitive to those who break the test rules.
Each class has about 15 students, so responsibility for those students is the manager in class, and he must take action against students who do not respect the rules. However, it is also the commission heads and overseers who if an administrator breaks the normal rules that should be made to the test administrator. We hope they won't allow photos of their test and social networking, but there's still the manager in the classroom who should oversee those students and stop using phones during the test. The punishment for students is exclusion from the test, if the student has the phone, even if I don't use it, it's a rule that on test day they shouldn't take the phone with them. If he's got the phone in his classroom, then he's expelled from test”, says Elez.
Despite the impact of pandemic on the learning process, Elez says they expect real results from this test.
We don't have a comparison between the years, it might be a higher score than the previous years, but this year I said we've adjusted the test for the pandemic situation. It means even if it's the lowest result, of course, has affected the pandemic, but it doesn't mean much because we don't have comparisons between the years, we don't have a test measuring the trend year-on-year”, but the potential Elezi.
The achievement test has been first held on May 21st, but that the postponement of the end of the school year has also postponed the test.
