UN: 155 million people faced hunger last year

Two thirds of the people facing this crisis are from 10 countries of Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, Sudan, Congo, northern Nigeria, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, and Haiti.
The 155 million people face “crisis”, <x2 emergency>” or catastrophic hunger rates, which represents a 20 percent increase in the number of people who have faced something like this, compared to 2019, the report said.

The report, covering 55 states, has also said that 73,000 people in Burkina Faso, South Sudan and Yemen are in urgent need of food to prevent starvation deaths.
The leading economist at the World Food Programme, Arif Husain, has said at a UN media conference that conflicts promote the most food crisis.
