15 years from Montenegro's declaration of independence

The support of at least 55% of voters has been needed for the referendum's success.
The pro-independence vote of the Albanian minority has been crucial. Montenegro's Assembly had previously adopted the law for referendum, in line with the European Union's recommendation.
Montenegro's independence has been announced on 3 June. On June 28, 2006, Montenegro became a member of 192 of the United Nations, while on May 11, 2007, a member of the Council of Europe.
