New Zealand will be released from its bad tobacco habit within 2025: This is the ambitious goal of the government of Progressive Yacinda Ardern, which has announced a series of measures to prevent smoking an entire generation that was born after 2004.
“Gati 4500 citizens die every day because of tobacco and we must accelerate measures in order to achieve the target without smoking at 2025”, Health Minister Aysa Verral underlined, announcing the government's new measures.
The plan includes increasing the age of tobacco use and preventing the sale of tobacco products for post 2004 babies in order to become illegal for that generation. Also considered is reducing nicotine levels and limiting countries where cigarette and tobacco use are possible.
