Accompanied with Ukraine's Foreign Minister at a news conference during the day, Jens Stoltenberg said Russia had gathered thousands of war troops on its borders with Ukraine at <x0); the largest collection of Russian troops since the 2014<x1 was annexed.
The head of the Western military alliance, addressing Moscow directly, added: “Russia must end the army gathering in and around Ukraine, prevent its provocations and de-scalf the situation. ”
Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Dimitro Kuleba, had flown to meet Stoltenberg for emergency meetings to discuss the crisis, amid increased concerns among NATO members for these military maneuvers, writes The Guardian, translated Periscope into Albanian.
The official Kiev estimates that the troop movement, which has occurred in the last two weeks, has caused Russia to increase the number of total troops in the region to about 80 thousand, with tanks, artillery units, and rockets.
