Von Croamon said we witnessed a really disturbing attempt by Prime Minister Kurti to blackmail the parties last night.
This was not a good start for the Kosovo Assembly. We have all expected to see a quiet vote for the new president of Kosovo, but rather we have seen an extremely disturbing attempt by Prime Minister Albin Kurti to blackmail other political subjects regarding the Law on Elections”, Von Croamon wrote.
The Eurodeput has called it unacceptable for the new government to work that way with the opposition.
This is not acceptable and certainly not the way we have expected Kosovo's new government to co-operate with MPs and parties. Laws should be properly prepared”, Von Cromon said.
Vetevendosje deputies incumbent Mimoza Kusari-Lila, after the assembly of the Parliament leadership, has confirmed that the Election Law is in the Assembly and has not been withdrawn.
Kusari said that the bill will now be addressed in regular procedure and remains in the Assembly.
The LDK has released the Assembly chairmanship meeting as LDK Chief of GP Arben Gashi said in front of the media that the Law has not withdrawn and the situation has changed.
“The VV has threatened and blackmailed with the Law on Elections we have asked to withdraw the bill, we have no withdrawal, so we are in the same situation”, Gashi said.
He also said that the Law should be withdrawn automatically and provided guarantees for substantial electoral reform.
“should automatically withdraw and provide guarantees for a substanial electoral reform, including the VV request. For the extraordinary session, there is interference on the list of signatories to MPs who have been signed as supporters of one candidate, we have a moment that has been physically erased three names”, Gashi said.
While incumbent leader of the Vetevendosje Movement parliamentary group Mimoza Kusari-Lila has confirmed that the hearing for the president's vote will be held by 1600 on Saturday.
Kusari-Lila made this confirmation through a conference held after the Assembly leadership meeting.
