Vlora Citaku reacts after Vjosa Osman is elected president

Citaku has congratulated Vjosa Osmani, saying that for the second time, Kosovo chooses a woman for president.

“As a new democracy, the fact that for the second time in 13 years we elect a woman at the head of the state should be seen as a sign of emancipation.

And now, Kosovo has many challenges ahead of it that require consensus, co-ordination and caution.”, it has written, the Periscope broadcast.

The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo elected Miss Vjosa Osmani Sadriu President of the Republic.

As a citizen of Kosovo, I wish the elected President. Queen Ousmane succeeds and prospers!

As a new democracy, the fact that for the second time in 13 years, we choose a woman at the top of the state should be seen as a sign of liberation.

And now, Kosovo faces many challenges which require consensus, co-ordination and caution.

It is the last time to eliminate dangerous polarization and pathological hatred that has dominated our political scene for many years now!
