Tragedy in Taiwan: 48 Dead So far

Train 408 Taroko Express was traveling south on the first day of a long weekend, having hundreds of passengers with him when he crashed into a tunnel near the town of Hualien at 9: 30 a.m. there.

By noon Friday [day], it was found that 48 people had died, including the 33-year-old train driver.

81 others were sent to the hospital with injuries, one of whom died along the way.
