Tolaj infection: None of the gastronomial establishments have respected the measures

Infectologist Ilir Tolaj says politics is responsible for increasing cases with coronavrus, but gastronomers do not stay away in that direction, according to him.

We are witnesses that not one of the gastronomy establishments has adhered to anti-Convidial measures since 5:00-21. There is no difference between cafes full of election campaigns that were previously carried out”, Tolaj said in Rtv Dukajni.

Tolaj, however, says such a closure at the moment has been unnecessary.

In the last three days, we have a constant drop in infections. I think health authorities had to wait a few more days. If the trend was declining it wouldn't have needed these measures. If the trend had shown serial growth, the time to take such measures is never too late for”.

Infectologist says it has been proven that such measures can have effect only for seven days and no more.

“Studies are showing that closures are effective if they last 6-7 days. Beyond that time, the effects are harmful in many areas of life, while in the pandemic these effects are very limited. The situation in Kosovo is not one to impose measures that were announced during yesterday's”.

Tolaj says the state has the capacity to cope with 500 infections per day given that there are 800 hospitalised.

Infectiologist says the measures taken are done without any professional and political analysis.

The closing “11 days do not assure this government that it will be able to provide vaccines that can make the change”.

He says the decision is more political than health.
