The leader of the Serbian Radical Party, criminal Vojislav Seshel, has said the creation of the Kosovo Security Force police (FSK) in South Mitrovica would put Serbs in jeopardy in Kosovo.
Seshel said in the morning programme of Serbian television, TV Pink that the Serbian Army should be ready to intervene in Kosovo.
We must be very careful, our army should be ready if that danger becomes real, so that we can intervene immediately. It is a very strategically important position, and from there the entire north of Kosovo and Metohija can be controlled with good artillery weapons. It is also dangerous because Albanians have no right at military bases. They are not entitled to Resolution 1244”, Seshel said.
The SRS chairman stressed that Albanians are building military bases without Security Council approval.
These things are not going well and we will have to solve it with some stricter measures one day. It would be better to reach a compromise so that Kosovo and Metohija remain part of Serbia, and Albanians get a high degree of autonomy, and that autonomy is guaranteed by the Security Council, but the secession of Kosovo and Metohija cannot be a realistic option or a topic of discussion. There is nothing to talk about, it should not be allowed”, Seshel said.
Establishing a Kosovo Security Force range (FSK) in South Mitrovica has sparked many reactions in Serbia. Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq has criticised warnings of forming as he has expressed “the KSF base” in Crushesa, South Mitrovica.
“If any danger or more serious threat to the Serbian people... I don't need to continue. The Serbs of Metohija's Kosova” know, Vuciq said.
To that statement, South Mitrovica Chairman Agim Bahtiri, whose municipality on March 26th divided about 200 hectares for the construction of the polygaon on the Hill of Crnousa. He said this range does not affect anyone's safety.
The KSF's military base, which will be built on the Hill of Crnusha, is not provocation for anyone, nor will it violate the security of Kosovo Serb residents who defend and protect Kosovo's state with its mechanisms, like all residents of our Republic”, Bahtiri said.
Who is Vojislav Seshel?
Seshel has been convicted of war crimes by the International Criminal Tribunal for Crimes in the former Yugoslavia during the time he was Serbia's deputy prime minister.
He surrendered voluntarily to The Hague International Criminal Court in February 2003, but his trial began until November 2007.
On March 31, 2016, he was acquitted in a first - degree decision. On April 11, 2018, the Appeals Chamber partially violated its first-degree decision, declaring Seheshel guilty of crimes against humanity because of his role in promoting the expulsion of Croats from Hrtkovci. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but due to his past time in the detention of The Hague International Criminal Tribunal, he was not obliged to return to prison.
