Scandalous: Chicago Police Kill a 13-year-old

A 13-year-old boy has been identified as a person shot dead by Chicago police in the western part of the city in a case the authorities described as armed clashes.

The young man named Adam Toledo died of the wound caused by the firearm in the chest on Monday, the medical researchers' regional office said Thursday.

Chicago police said a policeman was responding to a scene where gun shots were observed when the officer shot a suspect, writes The Guardian, broadcast the Express newspaper.

He was full of life. They simply took away (life)”, said the mother of the murdered child, Elizabeth Toledo. I want to know what happened. I just want justice for my son, that's all”, she added.

“The officers saw two subjects in an alley, one of them walked off and the officers started following him. An officer shot him in the chest. The suspect was declared dead at the scene of the”, police spokesman Tom Ahern said.

A weapon was found at the scene. Police spokesman said investigators are trying to find out if the teenager has shot the cops before being shot to death.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said it's important that shooting images first tell the boy's family and then the public as soon as possible.
