Federal Investigation Bureau (FBI) received a large number of requests for checking buyers from licensed shops for arms sales during 2021, federal data showed.
The FBI checked four million customers in January, 3.4 million in February and 4.7 million in March, according to the American newspaper.
This is an increase compared to last year, when 2.7 million controls took place in January, 2.8 million in February and 3.7 million in March.
