Reciprocity to Serbia to Be Set, Declared by Government

Industry, Intervention and Trade Minister Roseta Hajdari has been declared today about the possibility of returning reciprocity measures to Serbia's state. She has said Kosovo authorities will first use CEFTA mechanisms in this direction, including a unified approach in co-operation with internationals. “
She has said Kosovo authorities will first use CEFTA mechanisms in this direction, including a unified approach in co-operation with internationals.
We're in analysis of all the reports we have with neighbouring states of trade balance. We have many barriers, not only with Serbia, but also with other neighbouring states. We will first use CEFTA mechanisms. I'm not here today to say we're going to apply this or this. We are to have unified approaches in co-operation with the international”, Hajdari said at a news conference following the Kosovo Government's meeting.
Otherwise, the Kosovo government has warned reciprocity measures for each state, including Serbia. From the executive has said earlier that such a move will be decided in any area where there are unilateral actions which, according to them, violate the principle of equality and signed agreements.
Due to Kosovo's refusal to join the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in November 2018, the then-led Kosovo government of Ramush Haradinaj had imposed customs duties, first 10 and then 100 percent, on goods imported from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
By the subsequent government, led by Kurti on 31 March, 2020 the tax became reciprocity with Serbia, which sparked opposition in Serbia, the United States and the European Union. The lifting of this move was Kurt's first decision to succeed, Avdullah Hoti, who lifted reciprocity on June 6th, which enabled the resumption of political dialogue between Pristina and official Belgrade.
Within the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, which started in 2011 a series of agreements have been reached, ranging from the free movement of people and goods to the recognition of vehicle license plates.
Kosovo companies have not rarely had difficulty transporting their goods to Serbia, because authorities have either not recognised auto plates, but have also had problems recognising goods documentation, with the term “Republic of Kosovo” and Kosovo stamps.
The Kurti 2 government has been urged by the EU for the process of dialogue with Serbia to continue without delay and without obstacles.
