The plane of “Air Albania”, left London, stopped in Rinas, where Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama boarded and then continued flying to Kukes.
Rama in his speech until he showed about the importance of opening the airport, which he says will affect the country's economy, also told the history of Kosovo and the association of Albanians from Kosovo to Kukes.
Albania's first on this big day, which it called before those present, also had words for former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, whom he called among the great people of Albanians for whom he says I will write history.
At Kukes Airport, each visitor will be able to see within this building the history of Kosovo, and even a photograph of former president Ibrahim Rugova and former President Hashim Thaci has been posted.
Rama pointed to the name of this airport.
“Today is truly a fantastic day for Kukes, Albania for Kosovo and all Albanian. First of all, I want to give an explanation that I've seen wondering what that name is. This airport is called the northern Zayed-Fratet because this is not only a new airport but is also a memorial site and the building of this airport is also a temple of this land, of this area, but also of this large Albanian community from Pristina to Tirana and wherever Albanians live. Because the very area was also set up the large camp of those who were displaced from homes with violence, victims of ethnic cleansing, and flocked to Albania, where Kukes was the most populated (4)x1> station, Rama said.
Rama also showed the meaning of “Zayed” is in honour of the name of the family of the United Emirates Crown Prince, who has provided a great help during the time of the Kosovo war.
And then there came a lot of people from all over the world, but among them came someone who today is the prince of the crowns of the United Emirates who is the son of one of the wisest men who has known this Sheik world Zayed who by his wisdom with his foresight, with a genius vision came to give life to those we know today as the United Arab Emimeters. From what is now Dubai's prime minister were both young men and came here to care for war refugees, and the wise old man had just given the order he had just seen the beginning of the wave of ethnic cleansing that urgently opened up the track and the track of this dirt is the trace of this extraordinary solidarity story for those who needed it at that moment for all the force of brotherhood and all the strength of love to care for the savage survival of ethnic cleansing. And the crown leader remembers it this day when he saw him here, his father called him twice a day and he repeated the same thing to his son, please let all of you who are there take care of relief supplies and that no family would miss food and water and, above all, be careful not to feel a difference in the distribution of this solidarity”, Rama indicated further.
Meanwhile, he also explained “the north endof”. He said the most tragic story of the Albanian people was written in Kukes, but the story of the Kosovo Liberation Army war, which Rama said brought about Kosovo's irreversible independence. Rama indicated that pictures of Albanian history have been placed on the walls of the building.
On the other hand, the airport is the north flight because here in northern Albania, right here in Kukes is the north of Albania but from Kukes, where our brothers and sisters came from is the whole north of Albania, and here you wrote one of the most tragic stories but also the happiest ending. The story of ethnic cleansing, but also the story of the Kosovo Liberation Army war (UÇK) that brought about the unimaginable, freedom and irreversible independence of Kosovo. That's why you'll look inside the airport you'll find not only a contribution to what was the idear of the list of solidarity but also an attribute to those who were at that time the image of pain, suffering and tragedy we should never forget and the image of resistance that is part of the character of Albanians that we should never lose. There inside every stranger to come, without having to know the story, is enough to make the way from the entrance to the airport exit, and will understand and see on the walls that it has come to a land where a sacred page of Albanian history” is written, Rama has indicated.
On this day Rama also spoke of Hashim Thaci, whom he called his older brother, but also all Albanians.
In this case I want to share something that I miss very much today, someone I consider one of the biggest Albanians, and I'm sure such history will consider, I miss being one of the great Albanians, not my brother, but he's my brother because he's one of the great Albanians is Hashim Thaci. And from here I don't know if I'd feel like and whether I could be followed but I would like to take a hug and I would like to say that there's an extraordinary moment of Albanian history on the walls of this airport, the moment when Hashim Thaci and Ibrahim Rugova sat down together gave way to the unremitting process of the eventual liberation of Kosovo”, the prime minister said.
He later talked about the economic importance of the airport, saying this airport would be a friendly engine for development and future of the country.
The Kukes airport is today a new and powerful engine for further economic and social development. Today we flew from Tyre to Kukes because according to international aviation regulations, every airport from the moment it becomes operational begins as a local airport and there is a procedure that to become an international airport lasts 50-60 days and after it becomes a certificate as a”, Rama stressed.
Kukes International Airport “The northern Zayed-Frater” will have a track of two miles [2.2 km] and its observation tower, while at the location of the aircraft, it is designed to hold 3 planes simultaneously while in an hour it can launch 4 planes from Kukes Airport.
The terminal covers a Web site of 3,500 m2, has 2 entrance gates, and within it is also a museum area in memory of the Kosovo War, which was also the starting point of this airport, as a gift to the United Emirates to wait for aid to refugees.
