Duke, also known as Prince Philip, was never on the line for the throne of which his eldest son, Charles, is awaiting his turn and never enjoyed the title of the king.
Why?
This is because in the United Kingdom, a woman who marries the monarch may use the queen's ceremonial title, but a man who marries the monarch cannot use the title of a king who can only be used by male sovereigns.

Queen and Prince Philip had four children together: Prince Charles, 72 years old already; Princess Anne, 70; Prince Andrew, 61 and Prince Edward 57, writes BBC, translates Periscope.
Prince Philip often exercised his will toward children when they were young.
The royal family biologist quoted Prince Andrew as saying of his childhood: “Compassion comes from the Queen. Duty and discipline come from him. ”
