Official: Within weeks in Kosovo comes 100,620 doses of Pfizer vaccine

GAVI, which runs COVAX along with the World Health Organisation and the Coalition for Edysmic Information, says they handed in 1.2 million doses of Pfizer vaccine to 18 participants of the programme in the first round.
During the second round, 237 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine were distributed to 142 participants in the programme. The second round surrender is still under way.
According to the latest information released by GAVI, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Northern Macedonia will have to receive 100,620 doses of Pfizer vaccine through the COVAX programme from April to June, writes Radio Free EuropeTransmission Express.
Vaccines have not been distributed to Montenegro in the third round, while Serbia is expected to receive 28,080 doses.
The Western Balkan countries received the first doses of anti-coronavirus vaccines through the COVAX system in mid-March.
Thus, Bosnia and Herzegovina received 26,400 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine and 23,400 vaccines “B O NTech-Pfizer”. It is also expected that 81,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine will arrive there on April 22nd or 23rd.
24,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine have also arrived in Kosovo. Kosovo is expected to receive a total of 100,800 doses of AstraZenec vaccine under the programme.
Northern Macedonia, as well as Montenegro, also received 24,000 vaccines from AstraZeneca.
The COVAX mechanism of the distribution of vaccines against Coronavisur, which covers 186 countries, is co-ordinated by the Global Vacination Alliance (GAVI), the World Health Organisation (OBSH) and the Epidemiological Readiness Coalition (CEPI) and aims to provide an equal distribution of vaccines in the world's poorest countries.
