Sheshaj just minutes ago reacted by writing on Facebook where he thanked his supporters.
His name has been largely distorted in the media since the DP's loss in April 25th elections.

I want to thank you sincerely all for voting the Democratic Party in Tirana, and especially in Unit 5 and 7, where I had the honor of working with the Democrats. Over 9 thousand more votes than in 2017, in these two units, are a huge belief in our party.
Like any Democrat, I wish that today we would have taken the opportunity to bring into life the commitments we made in front of all Albanians to give them a responsible government that works for people.
But your vote for the Democratic Party is not lost, it will be loyally represented and courageously in the Albanian Assembly, which primarily belongs to ordinary Albanians.
I am also grateful and feel responsible to all of you for expressing faith in me personally. I'm going to show by work, every day, that I'm in politics for you and to serve with honor public interest.
