During this period, there was an alarming number of hospitalizations of people aged 25 to 59 years worldwide, the OBS General Director said on Monday.
“Deaths marked increases for the fifth week in a row, and over three million deaths have already been reported to OBS”, Tedros Adhanom said during the report, which is held twice a week, writes Anadolu.
He said the figure of one million deaths was marked for nine months, the figure of two million victims for four months, while the number of three million deaths in only three months.
“Infections and hospitalisations in people aged 25- to 59 are growing on an alarming scale, likely as a result of more infectious variants and increased social mix among younger adults”, the WTO director added.
He also stressed the importance of fresh air, saying its pollution has returned to the level as before the pandemic in September last year and that seven million people a year on the polluted air die, more than double the death of Coddy-19 so far.
