Full response:
Pandemia has brought hardship to all and the teachers alike. The situation with Ovid 19 has caused many students to become stuck in school. That's why we've decided to organize supplementary teaching for these kids.
The supplementary teaching is presented with legislation in effect, as I have said on the day we made that decision. Here I am quoting the Law on Pre-grader Education in the Republic of Kosovo No. 04/L-032, Article 8 paragraph 6, subpragraphy 6.3, which says that” in case you detect shortcomings in the application of the curriculum, the ministry may require the implementation of additional or alternative teaching”.
I remember when I was a student, we had a supplementary teaching, and I practiced the same for myself as I was a teacher. At the time when the teacher's work has been responsible, there has been no requirement for refusing additional teaching. I know a lot of teachers who even now have supplementary lessons but unfortunately not everyone does.
I am also aware that we have many teachers who are highly responsible for their work and who are in the service of students by supporting both children with talents and those who have difficulty in learning. But the situation in education is far from good, and it is not by chance that we are in such a situation. Partial influences and decisions signed in time of campaigns are the main reason they have degraded education.
Unfortunately, the poor results in responsible education are also the SBASK as representatives of teachers. So it's time for work because we all have to protect the best interest in children. Threats and escape responsibilities have greatly damaged us. This must be over.
As minister of education, I expect the DKA, the teachers' schools to respect the decision to maintain supplementary teaching for those who have been stuck during this period. Any tendency to prevent work with students who are stuck is malicious and unacceptable.
At this time when many people have lost their jobs because of the pandemic not only in Kosovo but throughout the world, teachers should feel lucky to be in business.
