The mayor of the Decani municipality, Bashkim Ramosaj, has reacted after listing the Decani Monastery among the “7 most endangered cultural heritage countries” in Europe from the famous Europa Nostra organisation.
He has declared that this monastery has never been violated by Albanian citizens of the Decani municipality.
Prime Minister Kurti and President Osmani, who have sent a letter to the organisation in question, has also reacted to the Decan branch of the Kosovo Historians League.
Ramosaj's full response:
Citizens of Decani and Municipal Governance have only peaceful objectives already witnessed.
Our aim is to establish the concept of economic development, our commitment is the approach to the wealth that God has given this city, where our children grow up with a higher economic well - being.
It's that simple!
Nothing beyond that!
The main purpose of the monastery's personnel and numerous intriguing and deceitful workers who support the monastery's sick causes are to stop the economic development and the well-being of the Decani citizens.
We've always highlighted today, we've taken care of and vowed to live in harmony with the Decani monastery personnel, so don't invest anyone else.
I say with high responsibility that the Decani Monastery has never been violated by Albanian citizens of Decani, rather it has been protected and historically preserved.
Also with responsibility, he found that every incident since 2005 and so far took place in Manastir has been conducted by the monastery staff itself and has been authorised by this personnel.
Security institutions, KFOR, the Kosovo Police, have information on this, and this is evidenced by KKSB reports.
