Defence Minister Armend Mehaj has hosted US Ambassador to Kosovo Philip Costet at the meeting Wednesday.
Meheaj has stressed deep gratitude for the US in its irreplaceable support for Kosovo in the development and advancement of the Ministry of Defence and KSF, Periscopi broadcasts.
He also stressed that US support has been vital in developing operational capacities and capacities interoperable with the partner forces and NATO members, also crowned with participation of the first KSF contingent in the first mission abroad, along with American military forces.
In the media communiqué by the Ministry of Defence, Minister Mehej reportedly also informed Ambassador Costet of his main goals, expressing the will for their realisation in full co-operation and co-ordination with the US and other partner countries. He stressed that the KSF is and will be a professional force with the values and standards of NATO countries under civil democratic control and always serving all citizens of the country indiscriminately and in the service of regional and wider peace, stability and security.
Next, Ambassador Costet promised that the United States, through co-operation with the US Army, the National Guard of Aiva, and other programmes, as yet, will continue its partnership with the Ministry of Defence and KSF. In the end, both were of a position to further intensify bilateral co-operation between the two partner countries in the field of security and protection.
