It's neither a betrayal of the party, nor a compromise, nor a humiliation, nor at least a humiliation.
Normal, the presidential vote could be conditional, like if an MP asks the current government to vote for the president if he promises and acts that in the country and government there will be no deputy or ministers with acts of corruption.
The basis of a democratic state is the implementation of values and standards that promote rule of law and good governance.
