Setting New Measures Against COVID-19, including the closure of gastronomy and shopping centres by April 18th, has led many Kosovo citizens to storm Albania to spend the weekend.
Long car lines have been seen during Friday day at the border with Albania.
Kosovo Police spokesman Bajram Krasniqi has confirmed for the time that only in the last 12 hours, from Kosovo territory to Albania's direction at two points the border crossings in Vmica and in Morina have passed 5.498 people.
“On the date of 09.04.2021, starting between 0000 and 11:00, have left Kosovo's territory in the direction of Albania through PKK Vmica and PKK Morina 5498 persons”, Krasniqi said.
According to him, that number was evidently smaller two days ago.
“On the date 07.04.2021 beginning between 0000 and 11:00, have left Kosovo territory in the direction of Albania through the PKK Vmica and PKK Morine 1475 people, already on the 08.04.2021 beginning at 00: 00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., have left Kosovo's territory in the direction of Albania through PKK Vllmica and PKK Morine 1845 person”, police spokesman reported.
For those who want to cross the border with Albania or vice versa, there is currently no preventative measure or request to be equipped with negative tests PCR.
Albania has seen new deaths and cases decline in recent weeks as a result of COVID-19, until in Kosovo they have increased markedly.
