The LDK's reaction comes: VVA Initiative for Urgent Election Laws and Threatening

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has considered the Vetevendosje Movement's decision to change the country's General Election Law. From the LDK they consider that this law should not become a tool of political blackmail. Kosovo's Democratic Order “has carefully followed the last-hour initiatives of power deputies [...]

Kosovo's Democratic Order has carefully conveyed the last-hour initiatives of power deputies, and considers the decision to change the Law for Elections absolutely narrow, taking into account the fact that Kosovo has just passed this process and has just introduced the new legislature. The LDK highly recognises the concilement of our exiles in all ethnicities of Kosovo and believes that each of its citizens, wherever it is, should have the right to choose and vote. Therefore, such a right, and such an important law, cannot be transformed into an internal political blackmail tool. The LDK considers today's move to be hasty and blackmailing without a prior agreement, without question adequate and without a broad debate, one of the most important laws in the Republic of Kosovo”, said in response.

So by LDK they estimate that the effort to change this law is blackmailing power.

The effort for extraordinary prosecution of the Election Law, in extraordinary hearings and prior to the formation of institutions is neither an initiative with substance nor well-involved initiative; but it is blackmail of power. It is blackmail on the arrogance of numbers, instead of political stability, which contributes entirely to distrust, incorrigibly behaviour and instability. The newfound power would have to direct all its energy to expanding the consensus; especially when such a concession was possible. The likelihood of the election threat, while the means remain that deliberately do not want solutions but choices. Instead of addressing the vital problems for our country, instead of managing the pandemic and inoculation of the population, instead of the political stability so necessary, power is seeking the country's most serious path of”, it is said further there.

Full announcement:

The Democratic League of Kosovo has carefully conveyed the last-hour initiatives of power deputies and considers the decision to change the Law for Elections absolutely narrow, taking into account the fact that Kosovo has just passed this process and has just introduced the new legislature.

The LDK highly recognises the concilement of our exiles in all ethnicities of Kosovo and believes that each of its citizens, wherever it is, should have the right to choose and vote.

Therefore, such a right, and such an important law, cannot be transformed into an internal political blackmail tool. The LDK considers today's move to be hasty and blackmailing without a preliminary agreement, without question and without a broad debate, one of the most important laws in the Republic of Kosovo.

The effort for extraordinary prosecution of the Election Law, in extraordinary hearings and that prior to institution formation, is neither an initiative with substance nor well-intelligent initiative; but it is blackmail of power.

Instead of addressing vital problems for our country, instead of managing the pandemic and vaccination of the population, instead of the much needed political stability, power is seeking the country's most serious path.
