Two recommendations today have submitted the Commission for Economics, Industry, Interventor and Trade in terms of paying electricity to Serbs in the four northern municipalities, in the debate that took place today on the commission.
By 6 votes for, the Commission voted in MP Mimoza Kusari's proposal, where COSTT is forced to report for every two months the Kosovo Assembly on electricity spending in the north.
In this regard there has been numerous reactions, while the latest reaction comes from the Democratic League of Kosovo, which say the Vetevendosje Movement while it was in opposition, had rejected the move.
Today's “Proposal of Vetevendosje deputies at the Commission for Economics, Industry, Undertaking and Market for COST to cover electricity expenses for consumers in the country's north clearly shows that Kurti Government is taking all actions it has rejected in the past.
The Vetevendosje movement, as it was the opposition party, for several consecutive and insistent years had rejected such an act. Even in our common opposition time, we had co-organised interference with the PAN government; which had initiated this practice”, says their media communiqué.
Also reportedly, 11m euros' payments will be made by Koon STT, which according to them, KO STT is the asset of Kosovo citizens and therefore the same is done by the pockets of Kosovo citizens.
Moreover, within six months the Kurti Government will be obliged to return these means to COST through budget review. So whether today you pay KO STT and after six months the government pays, the money stems from the wealth of Kosovo citizens.
This follow-up also shows that the Government has no clear plans for exit from this situation. The majority's statement that the Government is handed over to the legality in the north and the fear of the return of “police to the coffin” is as scandalous as a concession; above all, it is offensive to all forces in office”, it is said further in the communiqué.
While it is said the LDK will closely observe Vetevendosje deputies' pledges that within six months, government Kurti will extend authority and control to four northern municipalities, ensuring that citizens there will pay their energy bills.
“The LDK also commemorates all of Kosovo's citizens that Kosovo's energy independence has already been shut down and that the new government needs to professionally maintain this independence”, said their response.
