Kosovo's former presidential member of the LDK and parliament in New York and Kosovo, Teuta Shatqija, has said Kosovo Foreign Minister Donika Grovalla has not had to talk about crime and corruption in Kosovo before Security Council members.
She has said that this topic, which for Kosovo should be internal, could serve as good material for Serbia and Russia in their efforts to present Kosovo as a failed country.
This subject must be strongly fought, but it must be fought inside. It's an internal topic and I don't think it's good to give material to Serbia and Russia to use the name of the foreign minister and to strengthen the attack against Kosovo”.
“We are talking about the Security Council, where 8 of the 15 members are non-recognitional states and states that are opposing Kosovo. The focus should not be the words in the sentence or the analysis of the details of the talk, but we need to concentrate on not having these sessions anymore. So that they are closed to not be allowed to allow both Serbia and Russia to misuse that platform, much less by referring to the words of our senior officials”.
Shatqi in Klan Kosova has said Gervala has done well to mention the crimes to Serbia and to carry the flag in the background, but that the focus should be focused on the longer-term vision and not on details.
She has said there is an ongoing war between Kosovo and Serbia on the Security Council and states that are divided in two sides.
“There are two taxis; Kosovo's cognitive and friendly states like the US and European states that without reserve support for Kosovo, and are posing its benefits and is the workshop of non-recognitional states at the helm with Russia trying to present Kosovo as a place of crisis where there is no progress and as a country that is the bed of Islamists. The Russian ambassador said that Kosovo Islamists have influenced the damage that has been caused in Austria. It is these states that do not accept Kosovo at all and are very powerful to show that the dialogue for the status of Kosovo must continue”.
