Kosovo University Clinical Hospital Service Director Valbon Krasniqi has stated that despite this week's slight decline in the numbers of those infected with COVID-19, QKU clinics and hospital departments where patients are treating COVID-19 continue to be overloaded. Krasniqi said further [...]
Krasniqi said that further treatment of patients with COVID is continuing in the five QKUK clinics and seven Kosovo Regional Hospitals.
“The situation is still presented in charge of our hospitals and clinics. There's a lot of patients... Although the number of the last few days is smaller, compared with the previous week when we had as many as 900 patients receiving treatment in our hospitals, this number continues to be high, and our clinics are packed with patients. Currently in seven regional hospitals, we have patients being treated. While we have five clinics in the University Center treating: The Infectious Clinic, Mosquito Clinic, Sports Medicine object, Internistic Clinic Block, and MIQ COVID or intensive ward”, Krasniqi said.
According to him, the new British version has shown that it is faster widespread but that the number of patients who are lying down is not much different from last year when this option has not been present in our country.
If we compare the number of people lying and hospitalised in relation to the number of positive results there is no major difference compared to last year. So in this respect it's not that we have an increase in the number of hospitalized people in relation to those who result in positive. It seems that there is a greater spread of and faster, resulting in increased infections and the result of increased hospitalization. The methods of prevention should be known and mentioned, but even treatment is the same as in the previous or initial version to call”, the director of the SHSKUK said.
Already knowing that the budget for the essential list has been reduced, the USKKKUK director says that they are currently well supplied with therapy, but adds that even furthermore, the Remdesivivivitrir and Favipivari, which are antiviral drugs.
Krasniqi adds he expects the budget for Kosovo's University Clinical Hospital Service to be increased, in particular the budgetary lines for medicines and save material from the essential list.
And we're actually well-equipped with drugs, as far as COVID patients are concerned, except Remdesivivitri and Favipiravi, others are available. Also, Tusilicup we've secured the new contract, and so have other drugs. We expect the budget for the University Clinical Hospital Service to be added, in particular the budget for medicines and save material from the essential” list, Krasniqi said.
It is almost a month since in Kosovo the vaccine of health professionals has started, but elderly people with the Astra-Zeneca vaccine have also started.
QKUUK Director appeals to vaccinate all those who can get the vaccine because that's the best way to bring the pandemic to control COVID-19.
“Vaxin is the safest, best, cheaper tool to prevent the spread of mass infection, not just the vaccine COVID's but many other diseases in the past have been eliminated due to vaccine... Now because it is the vaccine, there is no reason for the virus not to be fully controlled and not only at the level of Kosovo but also the globe. So our call is that all the people who have access and can take the vaccine are vaccinated.
We've seen and heard about the possible side effects of the vaccine and as health professionals appeal to everyone and let them know that any grass or drug that is potentially taken is likely to give side effects, but never the side effects of vaccines exceed the consequences that could be presented if a person is not vaccinated”, he stressed about the kp.
