In northern Macedonia on Friday, 200 thousand vaccines against COVID-19 of the Chinese producer “Sinofarm”
Health Minister Venko Filipce, who along with Chinese Ambassador Zhao Sung, had come out to wait for the shipment to Skopje Airport, said the mass inoculation would be launched Tuesday in Skopje and six other cities.
According to him, between 10 and 15 thousand people are expected a day.
“Everything is going according to forecasts, and vaccines are being distributed correctly according to the drafted” strategy, Health Minister Venko Filipce stated.
The Sinofarm vaccine is given in two doses, and unlike Pfizer vaccine, which must be stored at -70 degrees Celsius, Chinese vaccine can be stored in a common refrigerator.
The minister of Health said a shipment of 500,000 vaccines “is expected to arrive soon. Sirovac”, about 100 dose “Sinofarm”, as well as 26 thousand more from “Pfixer”.
Some 59 thousand people have been vaccinated in northern Macedonia by Friday, while over 207 thousand have been submitted for vaculation.
Now two weeks of North Macedonia marks a decrease in the number of infected, while several relief measures have been adopted with the government's decision, allowing gastronomy sector work in open environments while the curfew has been cut.
As for the infected and victims, so far over 700 thousand tests have been conducted in northern Macedonia, and over 151 thousand have been diagnosed with COVID-19, of them over 132 thousand have recovered, about 150,000 are still active, while 4,818 people have lost their lives.
