The man has been a senior official at the LDK branch in Mitrovica, while for a while he has been a deputy minister in the Kosovo Government.
Baruti has been working as university professor at “University Isa Bolatini” in Mitrovica.
The news of his death was delivered by his grandson, Besart Baruti, through a Facebook post.

Family, friends, and friends,
With deep sorrow we announce that in the early hours of the morning, our son, brother, father, grandfather, and beloved Uncle Prof passed away. Dr. Blerim Baruti.
May Yahweh give his wisdom, his loving kindness, the love that he has distributed daily, to be followed in this life.
His good deeds will live long!
Those who knew him no doubt feel grief along with us!
There is no word to describe this pain of ours, but God takes those whom he loves closest to himself.
The burial will be kept only with the immediate family circle, to respect the IKSF measures.
But there will be no sight!
