In the latest report, the U.S. State Department has added at least 116 countries to its list of non-traveling countries this week, introducing Britain, Canada, France, Israel, Mexico, Germany and other countries, citing the high-level infection “as reasons.
On the other hand, the U.S. State Department makes recommendations on trips to four levels. The fourth level introduces those countries that, according to American authorities, represent the highest risk of travel.
It is emphasized that among countries where the US State Department does not recommend travel are Albania and Kosovo.
Similarly, the State Department said it would increase the number of seats it would recommend strengthened recommendations not to travel by about 80% worldwide.
According to this, the US ranked 34 out of about 200 countries at the fourth level with the recommendation “don't travel”. Already 150 countries are involved. Department officials declined to elaborate whether the list will have new updates.
Also, the measures do not imply a reevaluation of the current health situation in some countries, but rather “reflect an overhaul of the State Department's travel advisory system to rely more on existing epidemiological estimates of the American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention”.
The recommendations are not mandatory and do not prevent Americans from travelling.
Among several countries included at the fourth level with the recommendation “Do not travel” are Finland, Egypt, Belgium, Turkey, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland and Spain. Several countries like China and Japan stand at level three, suggesting to the Americans of “project the possibility of travelling”.
Most Americans had avoided travel throughout most of Europe because of restrictions on COVIDD-19. Washington has banned almost all non-American citizens who have recently been in most of Europe, China, Brazil, Iran and South Africa.
On Tuesday, the United States lasted another 30 days of restrictions on power since 13 months that have stopped its nuclear voyages to Canade and Mexico.
Nick Calio, who heads “Airlines for America”, a commercial group representing large American airlines, told members Wednesday that lawmakers should draw up a “guide” to reopen international travel.
Earlier this month, the CDC said that those who have been entirely vaccinated could travel safely within the United States, where the risk “is low”, but the director of this Rochele Walensky institution discouraged Americans by suggesting that they do not do so because of the high number of coronary infections across the country. / VOA/
