On Sunday, Albania will hold parliamentary elections. For this reason, a delegation from Kosovo visited the Central Election Commission offices. At the helm of the delegation was CEC head Valdete Daka, who was hosted at the meeting by her counterpart in Albania, Ilirjan Celibashi.
The latter stressed that the meeting in question served to share the experience of managing the election process.
“We discussed together on the electoral process as a whole and with the problems of these processes primarily in Albania, but also all information related to the success of the election process in Kosovo, which I want to say is a very good case for us Albania's CEC, to share the very positive experience of the election process in Kosovo”, the chairman of the CEC in Albania said.
The implementation of electoral reform in Albania will be the focus of the Kosovo delegation's visit.
“We came here to observe the elections in Albania, and however, to see those innovations that were introduced into Albania's electoral code and for which we have extraordinary interest, so it is biometric identification for the first time will be implemented in Albania and we have expressed interest in seeing the way”, said Valdete Daka, KQZ chairman in Kosovo.
State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi hopes the preliminary results of Sunday's elections will be announced within 48 hours, while those for candidates said they will take more time. /euronewsal
