The Kosovar Alliance of Business is considering the government's new measures for preventing the spread of Coronavirus, as not rational and harmful to Kosovo's economy. The first of the UN, Agim Sahini, said the new anti-Condavid measures, which will last from 7 April to 18 April, will cause major losses to various economic operators.
Sahin has added that the country is going to a close where business losses will never be covered, as he says in 2021 there was hope of an improved economic situation.
The Kosovo Business Group estimates that the country's government should take care of both the public health and the economic well-being, so under it today it will try to make a decision that will limit the movement and work of certain sectors, which this will seriously harm the economy and thus damaged, tasked with losing one by one either Coviti or by failing to support the state institutions of Kosovo, and warning 12 days as the ABB's assessment of an unreasonable closure, an unconventional conclusion without good analysis and covering the losses that different economic and the operators will have to be connected. Restrictions and closures have been made in many countries, but there have been many reasons and many support from various state institutions, sectors and economic operators. We're going with a closure that didn't have to make such a decision because business losses will never be covered and that would create a loss even though this year began with a hope of improving economic situation”.
While the measures have already come into force, Sahin says they propose to the government that prevention measures should be increased such as masks, distances and hygiene in locals, but not closures, as the damages in the economy will be present in the coming year. According to the head of GDP, the new 12-day measures will jeopardise the country's budget, revenues and citizens themselves.
“We would propose the country's government to step up preventative measures by keeping the distance, masks by establishing hygiene forms across all the premises, by raising inspections, but not by having seen it do huge damage to the economy and by that damage done last year there are consequences to this day and next year, and when you close it, and when you have to compensate, and compensation is not only pay is not only the increase and added work value, commitment” added Shahini.
“ ... this will harm the economy more, endanger the country's budget, endanger revenues, but also businesses themselves because these sectors that will be shut down have a big access to both the budget and the citizens' budget.
And compensation for rents from the country's government, according to Sahin is not enough, which, he says, are not appropriate at this time.
“It's not enough rent, it's also the workers, and money flow from non-money flow will have losses even banks, so they can never be compensated. It's not proportional to the measures that should be taken at this time”.
Sahin's closure is seeing it as the easiest option and the executive's lack of economic strategy.
“The closure is easier and in the absence of a strategy to work with Covid by providing citizens with vaccines by increasing measures, increasing easier control is to make the decision and close. But this is the most difficult and will have great losses for the economy and this closure is without economic strategy and without a vision of how it will get out of this because during the time of the campaign there is a liberal opening of”.
