It will thus implement the pre-election promise to introduce stricter restrictions on carrying weapons, the AP reports, referring to an anonymous source who is familiar with the plans.
Beden is expected to publish stricter regulations involving market elimination for so-called improvised weapons, as well as stricter controls for arms buyers.
In the United States, firearms, even at home, such as an unfinished pistol without a serial number, can be sold without security control.
Beden also plans to appoint his candidate for the head of the Agency of Alcohol, Tobacco and Weapons (ATF), which will be key to implementing weapons laws.
ATF has not had a permanent director since 2015, and the agency is currently headed by interim director Regina Lombardo.
Biden is facing increased pressure to impose strict restrictions on carrying weapons after a series of shootings throughout the United States recently, in which many people have been killed.
