April 28th is the world's day of security and health at work.
Daily activities and awareness campaigns are held every year with the aim of focusing international attention on new trends in the field of security and health at work, as well as the importance of problems related to injuries, diseases and deaths in the workplace.
April 28th is also a day in which world unions commemorate and honour the memory of victims of accidents and diseases at work.
The World Day for Work Security and Health is an integral part of the ILO-led Global Strategy on Safety and Health, which promoted the creation of global prevention security and a health culture with the involvement of all actors.
On this date, in many parts of the world, national authorities, trade unions, health and security organisations, and employers organise numerous activities.
