Following the Kosovo Government's decision to close the hotel sector and gastronomy, the Hotel and Tourism Oda has immediately started its reactions.
In a letter sent to Kosovo institutions, the Oda of Hotelery and Tourism expressed its concern over the Kosovo Government's decision to close 12 days without preliminary consultation, commemorating that regarding this decision has been reported only by the media.
The Hotel and Tourism Oda with all the sectors it represents are the most hit in all aspects of the measures taken during the pandemic time and does not support this decision of the Government of Kosovo, and typically rejects the decision, as it calls unilaterally towards hotel and tourist field activity, said in the letter to Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Ministers Arben Vitita, Hekuran Murati and Roseta Hajdari.
The Hotelry and Tourism Oda requires assurances from the government that after April 18th, these measures will be eased and all sectors and hotel and tourism departments allowed to work.
On the other hand, Oda wants to meet with representatives of Kosovo institutions so that they can get acquainted with the initial steps to compensate for business losses and to be known for steps to be taken after April 18th.
OHT warns that if requirements are not taken into account, then it will organise protests and demonstrations without permission and prior warning, even reaching as far as total disobedience.
Otherwise, the Kosovo government has warned today that it will help the gastronomic sector through rent and wage payment of workers, following the decision it has banned from the same until April 18th.
The government has also indicated that it is not about a new package of recovery, but the counteractions to be taken for sectors affected by closing measures.
