Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu has said that among the government's priorities in the field of justice is the functional review of rule of law, vetoing, fighting crime and corruption, as well as addressing war crimes.
She said that through self-defence, they aim to restore citizens' confidence in the justice system.
At the table organised by the Group for Studies and Juridical (GLPS) on subject “The rule of law in Kosovo -- the priorities of the new government” -- Haxhiu said the document for the vetoing they have worked on contains constitutional changes.
Our government currently faces many challenges, but we will willingly work on these challenges and this can be done with all of them. Some of our government's priorities is the long-term functioning revision of the law, the process that started three years ago and is on the verge of finalisation. Even though it wasn't the process launched by our government, we're putting it off because it's important. The second priority is the property process we worked on with a document and that document containing constitutional changes. The main goal of ours is that on Friday we intend to return trust to the justice system” with this training process.
It cited fighting organisational crime and corruption as another important process.
“Fighting organised crime and corruption is another issue, including creating the concept of our document that we have made during our rule, and with little change but that document is put to the polls, and we already have this concept of confiscating unwarranted property, which is a very good document”.
Among other priorities, according to Haxhiu, is addressing war crimes, which is a very important issue for our ministry. / EO
