Haradinaj raises concern: Public lighting more expensive than home, to react to mayors

Pristina chairman-in-chief candidate from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Daut Haradinaj, has reacted to the electricity price -- the one for public enlightenment in Kosovo municipalities, respectively -- with particular emphasis on the capital. Through a post in his Facebook account, Haradinaj has said municipalities should raise this issue urgently.

“Since these days is the subject of payment by the Government of Kosovo for the north flow, I want to publicly raise a question for the Pristina chairman and all Kosovo mayors. In the entire Republic of Kosovo, the home consumer pays 3 cents in the night, while public lighting -- which is obviously night -- is paid 10 cents kWh” -- has written Haradinaj.

It has provided a simple statistics on electricity spending in Kosovo.

The Pristina for 2019 has spent 788,548 kWh, until all of Kosovo spends 2,515,348 kWh, so Pristina spends 32% of electricity on the country level. I believe that Kosovo municipalities, and separately that of Pristina, should urgently freeze this concern”, Haradinaj has indicated.

According to him, what has happened so far is unacceptable.

The “is irrational and unacceptable what has happened now and how many years!” has ended Daut Haradinaj.
