The Kosovo government, after today's developments, has said it does not impede the work of the media and that it hurt freedom of expression.
Government spokesman Progress Kryeziu, in a response to Klan Kosovo has declared that the executive has no mandate on the State Prosecutor and that its actions are independent.
Minister Vitita's call yesterday at the media conference was for the state prosecution to protect public interest and the health of citizens from those who damage such vital and delicate processes, resulting in a quarter of confidential information”.
The government of the Republic of Kosovo has no mandate on the State Prosecutor. The prosecution's actions are independent. These are separate powers. Those who do not know that are, or do not really know or are stuck before February 14 when there may have been such interference in the prosecutor's work. The government never and in no way tries to prevent media work or hurt freedom of expression”.
