The “states in the Western Balkans only have a future as multiethnic and multi-religious society. Regional reconciliation and co-operation are key to peace, democracy and prosperity. Drawing new borders is a dangerous way. ” he said in a tweet.

Merkel-led Germany has been consistently opposed to ideas leading to the collapse of Kosovo's multiethnicity, Periscope reports.

The document in question is believed to have been prepared by Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansha's cabinet and by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's cabinet.
