German journalist: Kurti not selected for “Greater Albania”

German journalist of the famous daily Frankfurter Legendine Zeitung, Michael Martens, who has backed Albin Kurti's path towards the career of Kosovo's prime minister, is expressing surprise by the movement's chairman of Vetevendosje to participate in the parliamentary elections in Albania, reports Express. Martens has published an article [...]
Martens has published an article entitled “Albanian Big Dreams“, writing that Kosovo Prime Minister Kurti is in the elections in neighbouring Albania. A branch of his party is fighting for votes and dreams of a union of both states”.
He said Kurti's party has not come to power in Kosovo for its “rhetoric Greater Albania”, but to reform Kosovo.
“Vetevendosje, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's party, was not chosen for its rhetoric to Greater Albania. The promise to reform Kosovo was essential. But Vetevendosje vies for votes in the upcoming parliamentary elections in neighbouring Albania”, Martens wrote.
The FAZ correspondent for Southeast European countries with headquarters in Vienna has indicated on Twitter that he has asked LVV branch chairman in Albania and this party's candidate for deputy there, Boicin Abazi, about “Greater Albania”, but says it had returned to this issue even when it was later asked about other topics.
I asked Mr. Abazi only once for “Greater Albania”, after I found other issues of far greater importance. But he kept turning to the issue, saying politics has nothing to do with good governance, as people also need confessions”, Martens wrote.
He said that if Austria's Chancellor Sebastian Kurz did the same thing as Albin Kurti, competing in Germany's elections with his party, Berlin would be irritated.
If Sebastian Kurz took part in Germany's elections with his party, Berlin would certainly be irritated. While such a move is out of the question between Austria and Germany (now), something similar is currently happening in Southeast Europe”, Martens said.
In February, journalist Martens had reacted to another statement by Vetevendosje Movement Chairman, now Prime Minister Albin Kurti, that he would vote “for” if a referendum was made for Kosovo joining Albania
He had considered the fact that Kurti “is unconfirmed for abolishing his country”.
“Albin Kurti says he favours changing the Kosovo constitution to enable a referendum on the unification of Kosovo and Albania. He adds he will vote for such a union. A prime minister (potential) arguing for his country's abolition. Really unusual”, he tweeted.
