German Chancellor Angela Merkel is planning to take control of regional governments to impose restrictive measures in high-ranking areas of new cases with Ovid 19, a government spokeswoman suggested.
Finance Minister Olaf Scholz said the new draft law would include mandatory measures in areas with 100 or more new cases of 100,000 residents over seven days.
The restrictive measures in Germany distinguish in regions due to the decentralised federal system. In some areas, citizens can go shopping if they have a negative test for Covid-19, while in other regions, stores are closed.
