EU teams in Albania are continuing to monitor the process of closing polling stations and to continue monitoring the count. All EU teams in Albania collected information will submit O SBE and ODIR, who are expected tomorrow about lunch, to come up with a preliminary assessment of elections in Albania
EU Ambassador to Albania Louis Soreca said the voting process has gone smoothly, in addition to some trouble with the equipment for biometric identification. He added that EU teams in Albania will also continue monitoring in the process of counting ballots.
Apart from some problems that have been faced with the devices that have been for biometric identification, what we've seen is that the election administration has worked well and smoothly. And our teams or our teams, the EU teams that are monitoring the elections in the next part of Albania, will do exactly what I am doing here to observe even the closing voting stations process and the entire process even later... So what we're going to do is we're going to allow the polling stations to carry out all their procedures for closing the voting processes and everything else, but we're going to continue our work later tonight with the counting survey, we're going to follow it by morning, until tomorrow where we hope there's a” result, he said.
The EU ambassador called on political subjects to follow the counting process calmly and patiently, and to have respect for the outcome the Central Election Commission will announce.
“What we're going to do is due to the observations we're going to have done and the finding of O SBE- ODIR we will work based on these findings later on Albania. Let me say that personally, what I've seen has been a really big turnout and it seems to me that Albanian citizens and electors have realized that this has been a truly important day for Albania and its future... So it is now time for us to continue with all the work that needs to be done to continue to follow the process calmly with patience, but it is also important that he respect the outcome of the CEC, namely, continue with this positiveity that we have seen so far”, he said.
