Edsim Bajrami: PDK, LDK cannot be united opposition

Former deputy leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo and one of the founders of this party, Arsim Bajrami, makes a mistake in the PDK's decision not to participate in the vote to elect the country's president. According to him, this indicates political immatureness. Same mistake, according to Bajrami, has been the vote to oust the Kurti 1 government at the time of pandemic.

Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts member Arsim Bajrami estimates it is extremely important that a peaceful transition of power has taken place in Kosovo, thus completing the formation of institutions.

Speaking of the president's election, which apart from the Democratic League of Kosovo, the rest of the opposition did not participate in the vote, Bajrami estimates it is the wrong approach, especially by MPs from the Democratic Party of Kosovo.

 Every angle in pluralism has political tactics, as one of the founders of the Democratic Party, for 17 years I find PDK's logic to not participate in the session where institutions are founded wrong. This is not the essence of the PDK, this is not the origin and philosophy that we have built. The Democratic Party is an institutional, formalist party and should not boycott any session where state institutions are elected, it could vote against, abstain, but also boycott the foundation of state institutions for which it is not. The PDK has contributed and is the main ruling party”, Bajrami says.

Teen policy errors Bajrami considers the actions to abandon the Assembly hearings in which it is set for the head of state.

 “This state was created by PDK and LDK, but mainly by PDK, at the moment when The PDK has won the 2007 elections we have prepared the declaration of independence we have written the Constitution and we are not allowed mistakes to abandon hearings with teenage politics and show political immatureness and to diminish our state character”, Bajrami says.

According to Bajrami, The PDK was wrong another year ago when it supported the government's collapse at the time of pandemic.

 I have suggested to my friends even in time of pandemic not to vote for the collapse of the Kurti government in time of pandemic (March 2020), in time of a national crisis, to abstain and show leadership and leave it as a problem, internal conflict, between the LDK and Vetevendosje, and have not listened to me, have erred and have admitted that they have erred<1>, Bajrami says.

However, Bajrami says the PDK would have to pass these mistakes and commit to a strong opposition for what he said they have the same experience.

Bajrami sees united opposition PDK-LDK.“It is good that this opposition is very active, I am not talking about a united opposition because I know these two parties (PDK-LDK) in opposition cannot unite because they have problems, but I strongly believe that the Democratic Party will be consolidated as opposition and will restore the leadership experience of the 2005-2007 cabinet, when through the cabinet of good governance it has managed to build alternative policies and gain people's confidence and win the” elections, Bajrami adds.

Arsim Bajrami, deputy in the five legislatures of the Kosovo Parliament and twice the minister, sees a government with a majority in the Parliament as it says, the frequent practice of bringing down governments with no motions.

He adds that the elected government, at the head of Albin Kurti, should be responsible and, he says, remove political arrogance, and understand the power as trust by transforming itself into the service of citizens.
