A weaker quake of 4.0 on the Richter scale struck today the Greek island of Santorini, which belongs to the Cyclades group in the Aegean Sea.
The quake was recorded at 11,21 at sea, 18km northeast of the island of Santorini and 226km southeast of Athens, the National Observatory of the Athens Institute of Geodynamics announced, and Greek agency ANA reports.
Another mild earthquake, measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale, was recorded this morning at 8.09 at sea, 16 kilometers south of Nisiros Island and 351 miles southeast of Athens, and for now there is no record of possible material damage.
