The chairman of the Oda of Medicines, Pleatat Sejdiu, has said that nothing is justified in the behaviour of doctor Ibrahim Hoti, who last night refused to help an elderly patient at the QKMF in Podujevo.
We've had a bad attitude, without judging it, and not seeing what happened, we've been very firm for the arrest and how it was done. Clearly, this case was not for arrest. I'm not talking about the investigation. But arresting a 64-year-old doctor in late evening hours is unacceptable”, Sejdiu said in T7.
Furthermore, Sejdiu also spoke of the sentence the chief unionist has received that today organised the protest to protect the arrested doctor.
He said a police official has offered 50 euros in assistance to pay the 200-euro sentence.
“50 euros a police officer has lent it to unionists to pay the sentence. This is embarrassing. They're out of fun and boiling. We don't house this doctor or others in these cases”, he said.
Meanwhile, speaking of the factors that have led to medical behavior with patients that way, Sejdiu said that only yesterday has he checked 47 patients.
We've been in contact with two delegates today and they don't understand what happened. I asked them to explain how much he was in charge. No comment about behavior and no real discussion. The doctor last day checked 47 patients. Over a month, he treated over 22,000 patients. It's the only pulmudo on Llap”, Sejdiu declared.
