Accessing through the streets was blocked into four-five places due to multiple landslides and snow, after the avalanche hit the Chamoli district of the Uttarakhand region, the official said.
Authorities are making efforts to make transport network stable, as roads are closed by heavy snowfall. A senior official said after watching the area through the helicopter.
Such tragedies are not rare in the Himalayas. A split of the glacier and the landslide left more than 200 dead in this region in February. In addition to the victims, this natural disaster destroyed two hydro-power projects.
