President Glauk Konjufca's task leader has today been homazhe on the 22nd anniversary of the massacre in Lybenic, Pec. He said that in this village of Kosovo, innocent and unarmed people were brutally killed by police forces.

Konjufca said nothing has been done by justice for this massacre, which says it has been one of the most cruel.

“Lübeniqi is a Kosovo village that only during the last war of 1998 and 99 over these years has not experienced just one massacre, but has experienced three, and there are over 80 persons who have unarmed, innocent Kosovo civilians who have been brutally killed by Serbia's police and military forces. Nothing has been done in justice for family members to be healed by the condemnation of these Serb criminals to all who have lost their lives and who are their closest loved ones. Here, let's not forget there were also babies who were murdered 18 months, and even pregnant women who were massacred by Serbia's military forces. This tells of the genocide atrocities that have occurred over the Kosovo Albanian people on the part of Serbia”, he said.

Conjufca said that the wounds of family members are still open, where the fate of many undiscovered persons continues to be unknown even after 22 years. He said that as Kosovo institutions, they should not stop until justice occurs for this massacre.

“Plagus are still open, I would say, because there are still undiscovered wounds, there are open wounds because Serbia still holds them, doesn't tell where it has hidden them. This is a multiple crime on the part of Serbia, so except that it slaughtered our people, slaughtered about 14,000 innocent civilians by not sparing children, women, kidnapped their bodies, some of them burned, hid them in different locations and we're finding them in these last days. Ours is never to stop as Kosovo institutions seeking justice for the Serbian genocide to be condemned, so that Serbia's criminals do not wander free, as they are wandering through many cities in Serbia, but that finally the hand of justice may punish anyone involved in these crimes”, he said.

Kosovo Deputy Speaker Saranda Bogujevci said justice is necessary.

We have almost every day memories on the side of the country, which tells us about the crimes committed against our people and should serve us every day to make sure that justice is served. We know it's not an easy process, but we need to work harder until justice is established. Family will be here, and all those killed will be remembered as long as we exist. But so that when justice is served instead at least there will be a relief for these families that even when they come to these places and they will remember their loved ones to know that they have not gone for anything, that their blood has been for freedom, but justice has been put in place”, she said.

Today, homazhe in Lübeniq, Pec, has also made representatives of numerous political parties and citizens. /
